All in a comfortable and fun environment, with lessons tailored to your individual needs as a drummer. Learn what you want to learn at your own pace. From the basic fundamentals of drumming all the way up to advanced kit playing and even performance tips - without the typical up-tight pressure of music tutoring. Come in and see what this is all about before you ever spend a dime. There is no reason it shouldn't be affordable too! Lessons can take place in-studio, or in the comfort of your own home, and scheduling is very flexible. Do you need help preparing an audition for the school band? Entering senior year and need to begin working on college auditions? Are you a gigging musician and want to work on your game? Are you a beginner? Whatever your situation, I can help. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz percussion. I am classically trained under the instruction of two of the percussionists in the St. Louis Symphony. I have made a career exclusively in music for fifteen years. And I remember the thrill of rockin' out to Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix in my teen years.
I have been teaching all levels of students for over twelve years and estimate I have seen more than 500 students. I have several teaching studios, including one at Drum Headquarters in Maplewood, and at my home in South City, Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club on North Grand, and DeSmet High School in Creve Couer. I teach almost every imaginable percussion instrument, including; Drum Set (one of my double majors in college) Vibraphone (my other double major) Congas/Bongos/Timbales (Afro-Caribbean) Djembe (West African) Cajon (Peruvian/Spanish) Timpani Concert Snare Drum Concert Mallet Percussion (Marimba/Xylophone/Bells) Concert Auxiliary Percussion (Crash Cymbals, Bass Drum, Triangle, Tambourine etc) We can work on fundamentals such as; Reading Rudiments Time Keeping (including techniques for playing with a click track) Stick technique Four Mallet Playing Four Way Independence Dynamic Control Email me for a resume and references Joe Pastor • Location: St. Louis city and area
