July 4th 2009 marked the 30th Anniversary of the first of the songs contained within "The Sound of Light". A work that has evolved over the decades. Whereas each song is based on real life experiences, the entire project forms a journey of the heart and mind through this particular space/time continuum. Integrating the corelative mathematical ratios of waveform frequencies from the notes of the musical scale on the audio spectrum, alongside the almost identical frequencies of the colors of the rainbow on the visible light spectrum - (the common word being "tone"). Added to that, Bodes Law corelates the similar distance ratios of the first 7 planets out from the sun. When all the figures are layed out side by side - it is clear that there is something going on far beyond mere chance....... The concept of The Sound of Light reaches back before "the big bang theory" and travels into the future - of the inherent capabilities of human aspirations to attain a world of harmony, as exemplified by wise and sacred teachers and visionaries throughout history. It is nothing new. It has always been this way. I have waited patiently for 30 years, as a humble artist, with no wishes for fame or personal fortune, to have the opportunity to bring the work into reality in a way that it can be understood by all, without complexity. The line up for the projected audio CD recording of The Sound of Light contains some of our most highly respected musical friends from the St Louis area, who have made it onto the world stage working with some of the biggest and best known artistic performers in our world. My intention is to donate any/all profits from the CD to UNICEF - as a gift from the artists and good people of the Heartland of America.

1. Write a short cover letter telling them about you. Be creative and professional in your mailing approach. If they want you– don’t make them hunt for your contact info. Include your contact number on everything! Be Polite. Don’t call again and again. They got your package. If they like your type or need your type, they will call you. If not now, they might need your type next month.
2. The more mailings you send out the better your chances. Kids talent agents come and go frequently and kids casting agents work on various projects. You need to keep your name, and photo out there and often. The more you are out there, the better your odds of booking jobs.
3. Always use a legitimate licensed kids talent agency. Get the up-to-date kids talent agent list at commercialkids.com if you are planning on doing acting, modeling, singing or dance professionally, these are the only talent agents you should ever use. If they are not on our lists, they are NOT LEGITIMATE and NOT LICENSED.
4. Do your homework. Millions of people are trying to break into showbiz. Be professional and stay ahead. You need to know who the executives are that are currently working on a project. All of our listings consist of currently working professionals. If they are not currently working, they are not listed. Just another way we save you time and money.
5. Study, practice and, then, study more. Take classes, and, then, take more classes. When you get that audition for that dream role, you will need the talent to back it up. Never stop learning and improving.
6. Don’t be afraid to start small. If you are planning on becoming a star and make your living as actor or model: learn your craft by taking smaller roles, doing plays, print work (fashion & commercial), and commercials. All are great things that will give you experience, skills, and credits and pay great money.
7. Be a big fish in a small pond. You don’t have to be in L. A. or N. Y. to be successful. Get a local licensed kid talent agency from our list and build experience locally before hitting N. Y. or L. A.
8. Do commercials. They teach you how to audition, work with kids agents, negotiate, act, work on a set, build your resume and bring income. One national commercial can pay you over $100,000 over two years. If you or your children are really serious get our Lights, Camera, Kid’s video and learn from industry professionals.

TARGETING KIDS AGENTS

* Determine what your interests and needs are and use our kids agents lists and preprinted casting director mailing labels to reach those specific casting agents, talent agents, modeling agents, music agents and dance agents.

* Children and babies are not expected to have a resume. However if you have taken classes or have done jobs, let the Casting Directors and Talent Agents on our lists know.
* All resumes are not created equal. Tailor your resume to the specific area of representation in which you are interested (i.e. If you are looking for a commercial agent, list your commercial credits first).
* Always keep your resume current, and remember to include a contact telephone number.
* Voice talent: An audio demo tape should generally not exceed 3 minutes. The purpose of the tape is to display your style, quality and range.

INTERVIEW YOUR KIDS AGENT

* Make the most of the situation. Ask questions. Be polite, but ask questions. The interview process works both ways.
* Remember, your agent works for you and you work for your agent. The ideal relationship will be satisfying and beneficial for both parties.

CHILDRENS HEAD SHOTS AND KIDS MODELING PORTFOLIOS

* Don’t spend money on modeling portfolios or head shots when you are just starting out. Especially with babies and young children. They change too quickly and you will waste your money. Get a nice snapshot and send that out. When you start booking lots of jobs, then make that investment.
