Job Description
American Cruise Lines is hiring Hotel General Managers to live and work on its small luxury cruise ships. This dynamic hospitality position puts you in a new destination every day and challenges you to achieve in all areas of hospitality and customer service. Each ship is similar to a small, luxury hotel, where the highest level of service is provided at all times and individual requests are accommodated with courtesy.
The Hotel Manager is the senior hotel officer responsible for managing the daily hotel and food service operation on the ship. The Hotel Manager supervises the shipboard hotel management team and is the primary representative of American Cruise Lines to the passengers. The Hotel Manager ensures all shipboard employees follow approved company procedures including service standards for dining, culinary, housekeeping, shore excursions, onboard enrichment, guest services, customer service, customer interaction, crew morale, and training. The Hotel Manager is responsible for service excellence and superior guest satisfaction which is a critical measure of success. The Hotel Manager is accountable for the performance of all Hotel Department crew members, particularly the hotel officers and executive chef. The Hotel Manager is expected to provide gracious hospitality to the guests while being safe, courteous, professional, and efficient.
:Manage all aspects of the hotel environment through a team of assistant managers and service members
:Process financial transactions and manage the business office
:Become a hands on leader in the housekeeping and food service departments
:Demonstrate the highest level of personalized service to guests
:Sell tickets onboard for future cruises to happy guests
:Bachelors degree in Hospitality or Hotel and Restaurant Management: College transcripts will be required as part of the interview process
:Business degree may be considered with management and hospitality experience
:Military experience may be considered with management and hospitality experience
:Minimum 3 years management experience at a full:service hotel, resort, or cruise ship
:Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
:Available to travel and work a flexible schedule including long days for extended periods of time
:Proficiency in Microsoft Office
:US Coast Guard regulated pre:employment drug test
:Ability and desire to comply with work schedule
Work Schedule:
:7 Days per week while onboard the ship
:4 to 6 weeks working and living onboard the ship
:1 to 2 weeks shore leave vacation
:Accommodations and meals are provided onboard
:Roundtrip transportation is provided to the ship from a major airport near Hotel Managers homeCompany Description
