Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for two tenure-track 9-month faculty appointments in the Program in Physical Therapy. Investigators with backgrounds in physical therapy or related disciplines who are committed to advancing the science and/or practice of physical therapy are encouraged to apply. Saint Louis University is a Carnegie R2 (Higher Research Activity) university with state-of-the-art education, research, and clinical facilities, and a current enrollment of approximately 13,000 students, 5,000 graduate and 8,000 undergraduate. With a 5-year goal of doubling the universitys research productivity, the Office of the Vice President for Research is committed to supporting faculty research through expanded services related to research innovation, faculty development, and administrative support. There are collaborative opportunities on campus including existing and developing innovative centers of excellence, and a recent hospital partnership with a large, local, leading health care system where a new $550M Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center are being built on campus which will open in September 2020. Residing in the Doisy College of Health Sciences on the Medical Campus, the Program in Physical Therapy prepares physical therapy practitioners through its entry-level DPT curriculum. The Programs 15 full-time faculty engage in teaching, research and service to the University, profession and St. Louis community. Consistent with the research goals of the College and University, faculty in the Program in Physical Therapy are committed to enhancing the Programs research profile via implementation of a newly developed research strategic plan. In addition, the College is actively pursuing development plans for initiating dynamic, interdisciplinary PhD education. Position Expectations: The successful candidate will be expected to engage in research (50% of workload), obtain external funding for research, teach in an area of expertise, and provide service to the University, profession, and community. Position Qualifications: Required o Academic doctoral degree (eg PhD, EdD) oA defined research agenda with a record of peer-reviewed publication(s) o Successful record of grant submission and/or funding o Evidence of teaching experience at the university level Preferred o Current physical therapist license in the United States, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands o Post doctoral fellowship training Saint Louis University is in the heart of Midtown St. Louis, 5 minutes from the Gateway Arch and downtown St Louis.
