Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, seeks applicants for a 9-month Tenure-Track Assistant Professor appointment in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy to begin August 20, 2018. Saint Louis University is a Carnegie R2 (Higher Research Activity) university with state-of-the-art education, research, and clinical facilities, and a current enrollment of approximately 13,000 students 5,000 graduate and 8,000 undergraduate. Faculty are supported by many resources across campus including the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning and the Office of the Vice President for Research, which has a robust staff dedicated to providing faculty development, enhancing teaching and research innovation and offering administrative support for research. There are collaborative opportunities on campus including existing and developing innovative centers of excellence, and a recent hospital partnership with a large, local, leading health care system where a new $550M Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center are being built on campus which will open in September 2020. Residing in the Doisy College of Health Sciences on the Medical Campus, the 25th nationally ranked program recently celebrated its 25 year anniversary. Applicants who model a commitment to occupational science and occupation-based practice are specifically sought. Areas of expertise in adult neuro and physical rehabilitation or assistive technology are desirable. The successful applicant will teach in the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science, Master of Occupational Therapy and/or Post Professional OTD programs. About SLUs Occupational Therapy Program At SLU , we engage students in a five-year program combining a freshman-entry bachelors degree in occupational science and an entry-level masters degree in occupational therapy. We also enroll post baccalaureate students in a two-year masters program. Teaching, research and service are embraced at Saint Louis University and come together in an environment of active learning. Candidate Requirements Required o Academic doctoral degree (eg PhD, EdD, PP- OTD ) o Registered occupational therapist eligible for Missouri licensure o Evidence of teaching experience at the university level Preferred o Current occupational therapist license in the United States, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands o Post doctoral fellowship training oA defined research agenda with a record of peer-reviewed publications o Successful record of grant submission and/or funding Saint Louis University is in the heart of Midtown St. Louis, 5 minutes from the Gateway Arch and downtown St Louis.
