Under direct supervision, schedules daily appointments to the admission office; greets prospective students and their families; schedules interviews; answers and directs calls; disseminates information to the general public and the University community; develops and maintains relationships with academic and student service departments. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics Knowledge of recruitment/admission policies and procedures Strong interpersonal/human relations skills Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interpret instructions Ability to maintain databases Ability to organize time, projects, and details Ability to operate personal computer with various software programs Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and timeliness in a fast paced environment Ability to relate to students, institutional personnel, and the public Ability to implement and maintain comprehensive schedules Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment Minimum Qualifications Training equivalent to one (1) year practical trades or other technical/vocational training beyond high school; supplemented with one (1) year of related office experience. Job Duties and Responsibilities Schedules individual, admission, academic, and special request visits and campus tours using database management software; schedules group campus visit program components, which includes speakers, classes, and room arrangements; assists with coordinating the student ambassador program. Responds to Web inquiries from prospective students and their families, providing information about the University and/or status of applications; receives and directs phone calls to staff and other departments; greets visiting students and their families. Develops and maintains strong relationships with academic and student service departments. Composes written materials and corresponds with prospective students concerning campus visit programming. Contributes to the overall efforts of the department via promotion of a teamwork environment and fostering creativity, especially in the area of campus visits. Performs other duties as assigned.
