**Service Design Configuration Support Analyst**

The Service Design Configuration Analyst is responsible to ensure services \\(new or modified\\) transition from requirements through design and into operations effectively and efficiently\\. The Service Design Configuration analyst is responsible for the synchronization and integration of tools and processes to support IT Service Lifecycle\\. The Service Design Configuration Analyst is the person responsible for integrating activities of staff from strategy through design, change, release and operations\\. The analyst assists in managing the service lifecycle from the point when the new service is formally approved through its transition into production\\.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
\\-In conjunction with relevant stakeholders \\(e\\.g\\. Service Portfolio Management and the Project Management Office\\), generate and maintain processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient repeatable capabilities are developed to support the design and ultimate transition into operation of new or modified IT services\\.
\\-The Analyst will be responsible for facilitating and Chairing the Technical Management and Oversight Working Group \\(TMOWG\\)\\. The TMOWG is comprised of project managers, technical architects, web designers, system and network engineers, cyber security staff, and service desk personnel\\. The Analyst is required to ensure that each department participates as required for each regularly scheduled and ad\\-hoc session, and that each staff member provides input as necessary, and carries out assigned action items to successful conclusion\\. The Analyst is responsible to ensure plans, policies, architectures, frameworks, and standards for the design of complete IT solutions meet the customers objectives for compute, storage, security, network, end user devices and consolidated management services\\.
\\-Provide Service Design Configuration Support to the following areas:
* Project Management Office
* Service Portfolio Management
* Service Design
* Change Management
* Release and Deployment Management
* Service Level Management
* Service Desk
\\-Ensure that the delivered requirements include the following items:
* Definition of the functional business need
* Description of the service being designed
* Applicable service level agreements / service level requirements
* Infrastructure requirements \\(i\\.e\\. All of the IT equipment necessary to deliver the service\\)
* Environment considerations \\(as applicable\\)
* Complete data requirements necessary to support the service
* Related applications required to support the service
* Required ancillary services
* Operational level agreements to meet stipulated SLAs
* Required support teams \\(e\\.g\\. networking, storage services, etc\\.\\)
* Requirement for any external third parties necessary to provide support
\\-Act as primary point of contact for the Service Portfolio Manager, the Project Portfolio Manager, the Business Sponsor, Cyber Security teams, and all supporting organizations \\(e\\.g\\. architecture; engineering; system administrators, etc\\.\\)
\\-Identify and manage risks so they may be removed or mitigated prior to services going live
\\-Design measurement methods and metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the transition process and associated deliverables\\.
\\-Assist in the development of polices and standards in all areas of transition planning and support
\\-Provide recommendations for the definition of services and service packages, service package descriptions, interfaces, dependencies, and consistency between the service catalog, portfolio and configuration management\\.
\\-Coordinate planned changes with the Change Management Process Owner for all planned service implementations
\\-Coordinate planned releases with the Release and Deployment Process Owner/Manager for all planned service releases
\\-Perform a semi\\-annual process review and recommend initiatives/opportunities for improvement
Required Qualifications:
\\-IAT II Certification
\\-Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Solaris Operating Systems
\\-Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of both physical and virtual servers
\\-Excellent oral and written communication skills
\\-Excellent listening, organization and presentation skills
Desired qualifications:
\\-ITIL Foundation
\\-Solid knowledge and experience with ITSM tools such as Remedy or ServiceNow
\\-Prior experience in Transition Planning and Support for a medium\\-size to large organization
This position requires a Bachelors degree or a total of 4 years of related experience\\. An IAT Level II certification is required\\. The minimum of an interim Secret level DoD Security Clearance is required\\.
