Job Summary & Essential Functions:
ARI is in search of this position at our St. Charles office reporting to the Senior Manager, Safety and Environmental. The position responsibilities include assisting the plants in implementation and auditing of the overall Corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety policies for ARI. Demonstrated ability to work
independently with organizational and communication skills are required as well as a solid
background in EHS with experience in manufacturing and interaction with governmental
agencies.

Review and interpret government regulations as relating to ARI activities
Assist in the development and implementation of Corporate EHS Policies and Procedures
Establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel at both corporate and plant
levels.
Establish an EHS audit process, audit schedules, and conduct facility audits
Assist the plants in obtaining required air, storm water, wastewater pre-treatment, and
other government permits and monitor their compliance to those permits to include the
required recordkeeping and reporting
Assist and monitor the plants in proper hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and
disposal
Assist in the development and conduct of Hazardous Materials training programs
Evaluate work activities for employee exposure and assist with the development of
proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Assist in the conduct of environmental sampling where required
Assist in the evaluation of potential new plant sites for environmental approval before
purchase
Interact with various governmental agencies in regards to permits and notices of
violations
Maintain and update the on-line EHS databases for car cleaning, coating types, safety
data sheets, self-assessment audits, and corrective action


Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to EHS
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an EHS-related field with a working knowledge of EHS
regulatory requirements
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or process plant-related position
